DEVELOPMENT ANALYSIS AND PLANNING OF THE “MANUFACTURING” ECONOMIC AREA

Background. Due to a difficult economic situation nowadays, there is a slowdown or decline of volumes in cross-sectional areas of economic activity in subsidized regions. This situation requires development of new methods of analysis and planning in various spheres of economic activity (in particular, the “Manufacturing” area), taking into account region’s performance. The purpose of the work is to analyze the level of development of the “Manufacturing” sphere in the Volga Federal District and offer a comparative methodology for planning, to elaborate a plan for development of activities.
Materials and methods. The research tasks were implemented by analyzing the performance of the “Manufacturing” area. The study was based on statistics on the Volga Federal District.
Results. It has been found that the “Manufacturing” economic area in most regions of the Volga Federal District is at an average or high level of development, but the actual value added differs in amounts and proportions.
Conclusions. According to the results of the study it can be concluded that stable economic development of the “Manufacturing” area is a process of continuous change in organizations’ functioning, accompanied by improved economic growth and performance, including through the use of innovative activities, providing – long-term economic development.
